Data Protection Officer

Not appointed: the conditions under Article 37 of the Regulation do not apply

1. Purpose of this notice

This notice explains which cookies and similar tracking technologies are used on www.palazzokeller.it, for what purposes, how long they last, who can access the data they collect and how you can change your choices at any time. It covers the website only: the processing connected with your booking and stay is described in the general privacy notice, available on the website and at the front desk.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on the visitor’s device and reads back on later visits. They make pages work, remember preferences and, in some cases, collect information about browsing behaviour. Some last for the session only; others remain for a set period. Similar technologies — pixels, tags, identifiers held in the browser’s local storage — are subject to the same rules described here.

3. Technical cookies, which do not require consent

These are the cookies without which the site cannot work or cannot deliver a service you have expressly requested: session management, language selection, form submission, protection against abuse, and the cookie that records your choice on the cookie banner, without which your preference would have to be repeated on every page.

Legal basis. Article 122(1) of Legislative Decree 196/2003 exempts from consent those cookies used solely to carry out a communication or strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user. The resulting processing relies on our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and secure, under Article 6(1)(f) of the Regulation.

Traffic statistics also count as technical cookies, but only where the IP address is anonymised and the provider does not combine the information collected with other data already in its possession. On this site those conditions are not met, since the analytics tool writes its own identifier: statistics are therefore treated as consent-requiring cookies and are not activated before consent is given.

4. Measurement and profiling cookies, which require consent

These cookies reconstruct browsing behaviour in order to measure how the site performs or to offer advertising consistent with the interests shown. They may be set by us directly or by third parties through the pages of this site.

Legal basis. Consent, under Article 122(1) of Legislative Decree 196/2003 and Article 6(1)(a) of the Regulation. None of these cookies is installed before consent has been given through the banner, and refusing does not limit your use of the site in any way.

Where a cookie belongs to a third party, its purpose and duration are determined by that party, whose notice is linked next to each cookie in the declaration under section 5. Obtaining your consent before those cookies are set, and preventing them from operating in its absence, remains our responsibility.

5. List of cookies used on this site

The full list of cookies present on the site — name, provider, purpose, duration and a link to the third party’s notice — is published in the declaration below, generated automatically by the consent management platform and refreshed at each new scan of the site.

6. How to change or withdraw your choices

You can change the choice made on the banner at any time, as easily as you made it, by reopening the preferences panel from the button that appears at the bottom left of every page once a first choice has been made. Withdrawal takes effect for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

You can also block or delete stored cookies through your browser settings; instructions are in your browser’s help section. Note that deleting cookies also removes the one recording your preference, so the banner will appear again on your next visit, and that blocking technical cookies indiscriminately may impair parts of the site.

7. Who processes the data collected through cookies

Within our organisation the data is accessible to authorised staff responsible for the website, communications and administration. Externally, our hosting, website maintenance and consent management providers act on our behalf as processors under Article 28 of the Regulation. Third parties setting their own cookies subject to your consent act as independent controllers, under the notices referred to in section 5.

8. Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers are established outside the European Union or use infrastructure located in third countries. Such transfers take place on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission, or of the standard contractual clauses adopted by Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914, supplemented where necessary by additional measures. A copy of the safeguards may be requested at the addresses given above.

9. How long cookies last

The duration of each cookie is stated in the declaration under section 5. Session cookies are deleted when the browser is closed; persistent cookies remain for the period stated, unless deleted earlier. The record of the preference expressed on the banner is kept for as long as needed to evidence consent and in any case no longer than twelve months, after which the choice is requested again.

10. Your rights

You may at any time ask us to access, rectify or erase your data, to restrict its processing or to receive it in a portable format, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. Requests should be sent to info@palazzokeller.it and are answered without undue delay and in any case within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome — www.garanteprivacy.it) or to bring proceedings before a court.

11. Updates

This notice may change when the services used on the site change or the applicable rules are amended. The date of the last update is shown at the foot of the page; the list of cookies under section 5 updates automatically at each new scan.
